In partnership with Swindon 105.5 we offer a unique opportunity for your students to learn how to produce a short radio broadcast that may be broadcast on Swindon 105.5. Students will have access to professional media equipment, Apple mac technology and the support from Shirley Ludford the Station manager of Swindon 105.5 who has twenty five years experience of working in broadcasting.

Outline of Day
Students will work in teams to research, plan and create a one hour broadcast either using audacity on the schools PC network or Garage Band using the study centres Apple Mac technology. The project will give the students a valuable insight into how to produce a professional broadcast.
Each team will make a 5-8 minute broadcast which will include
- Interviews with local people on an agreed subject
- Develop a jingle using digital music for their radio station
- Add selected music to their show
- How to link and edit items to create the 60 minute broadcast

Dates: At your convenience
Cost: £800 per team (max 30 students)
This can be any time of year working in the study centre and in your school. This includes the organisation and management of the project, the use of all our professional equipment and CDs of the finished broadcasts.
Includes:
Planning and preparation meeting with the study centre and Swindon 105.5 managers
4 half day sessions either in your school or at the study centre
Posters advertising your broadcast
A copy of the sixty minute broadcast
An after school evaluation meeting
